Mojang Studios has announced that the latest update for Minecraft (available on PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, iOS, and Android platforms), titled “Mounts of Mayhem,” will officially launch on December 10, 2025.

This update was first revealed during Minecraft Live in September 2025, and the release date has now been confirmed. The new version is expected to introduce new mobs such as the “Nautilus” and “Zombie Nautilus,” along with new weapons like the “Spear.” Players can already get an early experience of this content in the released snapshot version 25w41a.
In the announcement, the official detailed the “Spear” as well as new hostile mobs: the “Camel Husk,” “Parched,” and “Zombie Nautilus.” Additionally, the previously rare “Zombie Horse” will now begin to spawn naturally in the Overworld.
Regarding the new “Spear” weapon, players can craft it using wood, copper, iron, gold, diamond, and netherite. The spear has two attack modes: “stab” and “charge.” Damage dealt by the charge attack increases with the player’s movement speed, making it particularly effective when sprinting, flying with an elytra, or riding a horse.

When the new enemy “Camel Husk” spawns, a Husk and a Parched will be riding on its back. According to the introduction, the Husk will always be armed with a spear, while the Parched will shoot arrows that inflict the weakness effect. Since both are resistant to sunlight, the tactic of “waiting until dawn” will be ineffective.

The “Zombie Nautilus” will spawn carrying a Drowned. “Zombie Horses,” previously obtainable only through spawn eggs in Creative mode, will now appear in forest and plains biomes in the Overworld starting from this update. Similar to Husks, zombies riding zombie horses will also appear wielding spears.
